The present on P.E.
In America today there are over 66% of people that are over weight. This is true because of children, teens, and adults eat improperly and do not exercise everyday fo at least 60 minutes a day. With school and the way the economy many schools are laying off teachers and getting rid of school programs to save a buck. Many schools are not making physical education mandatory because of the way things are with money and the economy. Schools fell that p.e. and music are not a big deal but it is. When you exercise and play it helps your body and more!!! P.E. SHOULD BE MANDATORY!!!

Price this is a perfect example of how technology has impacted this society in a bad way. Ironically, we can blame the high rate of obesity in American children on technology. As a child I was not allowed to sit and watch television for hours and hours. I was only allowed to watch tv for a couple of hours at nite. Today children not only watch long hours of tv, but they are constantly playing video games. When I was little we stayed outside running, jumping and skipping. No wonder children are obese, they are not active.Today's technology has evolved our American children into couch potatoes being held hostage by either a remote control or joy stick.
ReplyDeletePrice, I absolutely agree with you that physical education has to be introduced in school programs in order to improve children health. Physical activities can bring some variety in many students’ passive lives. A lot of children spend their days sitting at classes and then doing their homework at home. At leisure time many kids do not play with their peers in the neighborhood as their parents used to; they play computer games, watch TV and text massages to their friends. Worst of all is that a lot of parents do not explain their kids that this is an inappropriate way to behave and do not make any restriction in regards to electronic devices. Thus, in order to make the American nation healthier, educational institutions have to make physical training an obligatory class of educational process.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more! It should be mandatory! Like english, math, science, social studies, PE should be just as important. It is a life skill you will carry on forever with you. It's something that needs to be taught at every level. If it doesn't become mandatory any time soon, I hope teachers will be able to advocate for these kids.
