P.E. in schools today
With America being overweight at 66% school cafeterias do not help solve the case either with unhealthy food high in fats, grease and calories. With people buying and eating foods like this students need exercise and P.E. in schools. The only way to get kids/students to be active is through the schools with P.E. P.E. in school might be the only time students get to be active. With the amount of stress in schools today to do well exercise/physical activity is proving to reduce stress and clear your mind. It is good for the body and heart and you burn calories from the food you eat. P.E. must be mandatory because kids might never get to do some of things in P.E. class like canoing, rock climbing, field hockey, and basic sports.

I understand where you are coming from, but schools aren't the problem. It's up to the kid to want to exercise and eat right. It doesn't take that much time out of a day to take a walk or to eat something healthy.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post, and one I really agree with! Physical education needs to be a mainstay in schools. Children, adolescents, teens, and adults will benefit from increased physical movement and exercise. I believe physical education should be a daily class for every grade. I would love to see the health statistics of children who participate in gym once a week compared to those with a daily gym class.
ReplyDeletePrice, you mentioned one of the main American problems obesity in this post. The number of overweight children increases gradually and has already reached 10 million in United State. Technology plays a crucial role in the growth of the overweight Americans. Due to scientific innovations and technological introductions into food industry, most food that people consume today contains unhealthy ingredients such as partially hydrogenated oil, brominated vegetable oil, or artificial sweeteners. Many of these component s lead to the origin or intensity of diseases including obesity. One of the efficient ways to make the American nation healthier is to introduce Physical Education in school policies and programs.
ReplyDeleteLike all the other posts, I agree with PE. Children also have to make the effort. And it's interesting you mention the school food, i agree! What's the point of making the kids run, and then stuffing them with pizza and fries twice a week?
